Details: This striking and elegant round locket holds a fiery Australian opal, star-set in the upper corner like the sun, but is otherwise wonderfully unadorned. The interior opens to reveal an original gold frame backed by old silk, waiting to be set with a beloved photo. Our locket has a lovely patina acquired over the 120 years it has spent on the earth. It has a clean back and interior, perfect for an engraved message. Slim, easy to wear and incorporate with other charms and heirlooms it would also stand on its own as an everyday keepsake. 

Beautiful, clean lockets such as this one are becoming increasingly difficult to find, but we just adore them and will hunt them down wherever we can. The rare skill needed to fabricate a custom hinge and delicate closure are rarely seen in current work. Modern lockets feel dull and uniform in comparison to the endless variety we find with Victorian, Edwardian, and Deco work. 

Measurements: The locket is just over 1 1/3" long, including bale, by 1.1" in diameter, weighing 7.5 grams.
