A rare piece to behold, this original 1940's ivory silk brocade loungewear set, accented by a floral silk pattern and comprised of a blouse and trousers, is the perfect ensemble to add to your vintage collection.

The V shaped neckline of the blouse is framed by a pointed notched collar. The elegant shoulder line, is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads. The 3/4 length inset sleeves, are edged with slim turned up cuffs. The fitted cut of the blouse draws in centrally with two decorative braided frog and loop buttons, rendered in matching silk brocade. The cinched in waistline, is accented by a central matching bow fastening, which concealed the double button fastening along the lightly flare hem panel. The back of the blouse features subtle gathered pleats which radiate up from the hemline panel.

The matching trousers, sit perfectly beneath the blouse and boast a fitted waistline with a side button and zip fastening. The tailored cut, is accented by double darts which run from beneath either side of the front and back of the waist-panel. The high rise, sets off the peg cut of the trousers, which are finished with a single pocket along the right hand side hipline.

Condition: The set is in perfect vintage condition. Two small pin sized dots along the hemline where the buttons may have once been positioned, this is concealed by the cross-over of the fabric and only visible when the blouse is un-done. A very small and faint pin sized age mark along the back central part of the backline. A small grey scuff mark along the back right hand side of the shoulder area. These minor details are in no way apparent when the blouse is being worn and only noticeable upon very close inspection.
