Rendered in the most sumptuous shade of coral, this original 1930's geometric lace dress and matching mantle, accented by gunmetal silver lamé threads, is a rare set to behold. 

The elegant high bateau cut neckline of the dress, is framed by wide shoulder straps which set off the sleeveless cut. The fitted bodice, is accented by a central pointed seam, which radiates from the central part of the bust-line, joining each side seam at waist-height. The fitted waistline, sets off the elegant drape of the skirt, which skims the silhouette and finishes in a bias cut full circle hemline. Completed with a deep V shaped backline and side press stud fastenings.

The dress sits above a separate slip dress rendered in rayon satin, which boasts a cowled bateau neckline framed by slim shoulder straps. The bias cut of the slip, skims the silhouette and sits perfectly beneath the lace dress.

The matching mantle, features a high asymmetrical neckline, which gathers in pleats along the left hand side, where a statement cluster of three large poppies are positioned. The elegant design of the mantle drapes in an even line along the front of the bodice and shoulder line, and is finished in decorative lowered points along the back-line. Completed with rhinestone embellished silver button and loop fastenings along the nape, which draw the eye to the mesmerising open back-line design, this breathtaking 1930's piece showcases the craftsmanship and design of the era.

Closures: The dress fastens with 6 press studs and a hoo and eye along the side seam. The slip dress has no fastening and is cut on the bias which allows for it to be slipped on with ease. The mantle fastens with 6 button and loops along the nape.

Condition: The dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A few very small scattered age marks to the lace along the back of the skirt-line along the flared hemline. A small mend to the lace along the back right hand side of the backline, next to the edge of the V point. The shoulders of the dress have been back in matching lace to re-inforce the shoulder line. There has been a sympathetic mend made to the lace along the left hand side of the hemline, this is well concealed within the drape of the design. Natural and light tarnishing to the metal lamé thread throughout, this appears darker and lighter in different areas and is a natural process for lamé thread. A very small sympathetic mend to the lace along the front of the dress below the waistline. A few small sympathetic mends to the lace along the left hand side armhole area. 

The slip dress is in fair condition. There are scattered age marks throughout and areas of wear to the rayon satin, these appear as surface scratches. There are small scattered holes to the slip along the back of the skirt line just above the hemline, above this is positioned quite a substantial age mark. ( These details are in no way apparent when the lace dress is worn above the slip dress. The slip is used to conceal ones' modesty. 

The mantle is in near perfect vintage condition, there are signs of wear and age marks to the cluster of poppies along the left hand side yoke.These do not detract from the beauty of this piece and are only apparent upon closer inspection.
