Our GTM Manufacturing Probe Guard is designed to safeguard your machine's spindle probe from impacts that could damage it. They are made from 6061  type 2 red anodize Aluminum.

Please note that this probe guard functions effectively only when the Electronic Probe is activated.

If a machinist or programmer sets a Z move lower than the stem length, the body risks colliding with the workpiece, potentially causing damage without alerting the controller to the probe's contact. The Probe Guard ensures contact with the workpiece, aiding the probe switch in signaling the controller about contact, leading to an error notification or a faulty measurement. While measurements might be impacted at times, the probe guard prevents the probe's body from being damaged.

Whether in vertical or lateral movements, the Probe Guard proves its utility. If the Z value is too low and the probe moves sideways toward the workpiece, the Probe Guard initiates contact before the probe's body, thanks to its larger diameter.

Attaching the Probe Guard to the probe body involves an M4 x 0.7mm thread, while the stem features a matching female thread, also M4 x 0.7mm
