Originally designed in 1953, the D.153.1 armchair is a classic piece from Gio Ponti’s private collection, designed for his home on Via Dezza in Milan. It embodies Ponti's signature blend of elegance and functionality, showcasing a refined aesthetic that remains timeless.

The armchair's frame is made from satin-finished brass, a material that provides a sleek, polished look while maintaining durability. The upholstery is available in two-tone leather or the exquisite Rubelli “Punteggiato” fabric, which was originally designed by Ponti in 1934. The fabric reinterprets the ancient velvet technique, modernizing it with a unique design featuring tight sequences of staggered stamps and a beautiful colour gradation.

As part of the Gio Ponti Collection, the D.153.1 armchair was reintroduced at the Salone del Mobile 2012, and it continues to captivate design enthusiasts with its blend of tradition and modernity.
