This silver denarius was struck during the reign of Lucius Verus (161-169 AD), co-emperor with Marcus Aurelius.
Obverse: The coin features a bare-headed portrait of Lucius Verus facing right, with the inscription "L VERVS AVG ARMENIACVS", celebrating his title as Armeniacus, granted after the Roman victory over Armenia.
Reverse: Depicts Mars, the Roman god of war, standing to the right, holding an inverted spear in his right hand while resting his left hand on a shield placed on the ground. The inscription "TR P IIII IMP II COS II" refers to his fourth tribunician power, second imperial acclamation, and second consulship.
A remarkable piece of Roman history, ideal for collectors of imperial coinage and those interested in the military campaigns of Lucius Verus.
