General characteristics of the city of Monterrey, NL, Mexico: semi-arid climate, daily mean temperature of 22.3 °C, average temperature high of 28.4 °C and low of 16.3 °C, and annual average precipitation of 590.9 mm.

Scenedesmus abundans (O. Kirchner) Chodat 1913; UTEX LB 1358; CCAP 211/23; UTEX 343 (Chlorella fusca var. fusca).

High-CO₂ tolerant species (25% v/v CO₂). It also grew at 50% CO₂. Tolerance to high NOx concentrations (1068 ppm nitrite). Moderate tolerance to SOx (≤39 ppm bisulfite, 254 ppm sulfite).
