Dana 60 axle shaft u-joint. It does not have a grease zerk which allows for more steel, and increases strength  It is the replacement joint for the DAN5-806X, and a superior product.  It has a cap size of 1-3/8" (1.375") and a snap ring to snap ring distance of 3.0" (distance between the inside of the ears on the axle shaft).

We recommend running a set of full circle clips with all our axle shaft u-joints, but this is only possible with aftermarket chromoly axle shafts.  The full circle clips take the place of the normal c-clip, and keep the cap in the axle shaft even after it starts to spin.  The most common form of axle shaft and u-joint failure is when the ear of the shaft wallows out enough for the cap to turn.  When this happens in a traditional c-clip set up, the force of the cap turning causes the c-clip to pop out.  This in turn allows the centrifugal force to shoot out the cap. Now the cross of the u-joint is flopping around in the axle shaft ear, binds up, and then BOOM!

WARNING: Do not add grease or switch the caps!  Each unit, and each cap on each unit, has been exactingly greased at the factory. Additional grease, or just swapping cap to cap, can reduce the life expectancy.  A simple symbol on the cap that matches the corresponding location on the cross can assure that the right cap gets back to its home during assembly.
