Description of Location: This alga was collected from southeastern tip of the island of O'ahu, Hawaii, at the end of the Ko'olau Mountain Range. The alga was collected from the first major waterfall (on rocks in the splash zone) in Wai'oma'o Stream (the east branch of Palolo Stream) which was accessed via the Palolo Valley Trail, headed up towards Ka'au Crater.
