One of Icebug's lightest weight winter offerings, their Sala boot with the BUGrip outsole checks a lot of boxes. As mentioned, the boot is incredibly lightweight, with water-resistant quilted polyester (made from recycled Ripstop polyester) uppers and a large splash-guard to keep you dry. A combination recycled wool and recycled polyester lining keeps you cozy, and a wider construction allows room for thicker socks. The zipper over the top of your foot means these are very easy to take on and off. The 6" height means they sit just above the ankle and are perfect for most winter days (other than those with huge amounts of snow).

The highlight of the boot is the aforementioned BUGrip rubber outsole, featuring 17 carbide steel studs built into it. These studs are very durable and dig into the ice to provide excellent grip where you would not necessarily expect it. The only precaution you would want to take is if entering places with carpet (for fear of ripping up the carpets with the studs) or hard flooring (where the studs may actually end up being slippery). The studs are supposed to retract slightly if walking on harder surfaces to preserve the life of the stud (this may be dependent on the weight you put into your step and the exact surface).
