Exceptional length, unusual spice, red fruits, lithe feel, tension, huge grip and length that persists with spice, pucker and swagger of lighter red berries and spice, minerally notes and dusty things. Unreal. Wow stuff.”

94 Points, Galloni – “The 2022 Muraje Sumie is fabulous. This brisk, taut Carema is so classy. Dried herbs, mint, cedar and tobacco lend tons of nuance. This has real understated depth and structure, qualities that are such signatures of this tiny appellation. The long mineral-drenched finish is sublime. There is no Riserva in 2022; all the fruit went into the straight Carema.”

A truly superb release from Deborah & Federico at Muraje.  This is a fine boned, red fruited & super pure expression of nebbiolo.  A hauntingly beautiful release at just 13.5% ABV.

100% Picotener Clone Nebbiolo. The vineyards are cultivated between 300 and 600 mt above sea level, on centuries old terraces supported by dry stone walls on rocky amphitheater of Carema town in province of Turin (Piedmont, north-west of Italy). Cru : Ciapey, Laurey, Falet, Costet, Costa, Siei, Masunì. The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo from vines which are on everage 50 years old and are trained using the ancient ‘pergola caremese’ (‘topie’ in local dialect) method.
