This listing is for rare collection of Vintage Vinyl African
Tribal Record Beads that are strung into a multi-strand adjustable necklace. I have only come across a few of these in all of my dealings with Vinyl Record Beads, and none have been this perfect.
9 strands of rich reddy-brown Vinyl Record Beads measuring 5mm, are interspersed with
yellow and
green glass Chevron and tube beads. The strands are braided together at the back, and tie with an adjustable cotton cord.
The entire necklace is 39" from tip to tip, but could be tied as short as 30".
Vinyl Record Beads are made in Africa from Vulcanite, a material that was used to make vinyl records. They are known as Vinyl Record Beads, since they are made from the same material. Natively, they are called "jigida beads," which is a really fun name to say!
These beads hail from Mali, where women wear them around their waist, to help them hold their shape.
So perfect with the current TRIBAL and bohemian fashion trends.
These fabulous beads have also been worn by actress Africa Miranda, star of the show The New Atlanta.
