100% Nebbiolo from old vines in Ronco al Maso cru in Ghemme (Alto Piemonte).  This a classic release from a terrific vintage & not be missed release.  A potent & structural release from Andrea.  There's the classic autumnal notes on the nose, with iron like ferrous minerality & waive of terrific tannin on the tail.  Reminiscent of the wonderful 2016, only a little extra intensity & structure.  Drink 2025-2050+

96 Points, Lisa Cardelli (The Wine Pilot) - "As for the previous two wines from Platinetti, fruit comes from the Ronco Maso vineyard. The difference here is the vines’ age: 55 years. Only old and large Slavonian oak barrels are used in the winery (across the board for Nebbiolo ). Interestingly, it shows more tertiary characters than the Colline Novaresi, even though they are only two years apart. Potpourri, Indian spices concoction; an earthy, autumn feel to it followed by porcini dust, black truffle, consommé. Tannins are soft-grained and enduring; like butter on warm bread, they melt into the enlivening acidity. The persistency is spectacular, the mid palate concentration is far superior to the Colline Novaresi, and I even love that sanguine character. This wine keeps improving in the glass; after shaking off the initial tree moss character from its shoulders, it shows an array of dried red berries, earthy mineral, amaro characters. I have always admired the Platinetti Guido Ghemme, and once again, I am more than satisfied." Drink 2023-2045+

This is from a terraced vineyard with fluvial-glacial soil with sandy and pebbly texture. The minimum vine age here is 45 years. The wine is raised in 30 hectolitre Slavonian botti for 36 months.
