A beautiful Paul Young Perfectionist 2-piece 2-tip, built for a #5 line and weighing 3.27 ounces. Serial #4068, likely dating from just after Paul Young. This rod is more than mint! In fact, I may have been the first person to put this rod together outside of the Young rod shop. This has the black-anodized aluminum ferrules, which, when I pulled the rod from the bag, showed no scratches on the ferrule slide or any other sign of having been put together. Very nice medium-fast action, not slow or soupy in any way. The rod is wrapped gold with very nice varnish. Black anodized down-locking screw lock seat with a cork spacer and a black anodized pocket cap stamped "Paul H. Young Co., Detroit Mich" in addition to the owners name and "Perfectionist 7 1/2 ft. 3.27oz" and "a Paul H. Young Co. rod" which are lettered on the rod shaft. Mottled flame cane. The half-wells grip shows no sign of having been handled. Just about the only negative about this rod (and I'm probably being a little over-scrupulous here) is that there are some very small digs in the cork from where the snake guides have pressed into it while the rod was in the tube. Burgundy nylon bag. Aluminum tube with gold anodized collar and aluminum top. Try to find a nicer example of a Paul Young Perfectionist anywhere -- I doubt you will!
