The Mark IV salmon series features a disc drag with a preset gear-and-pawl drag system designed to control spool overrun when lighter disc drag settings are made. A 10 position drag knob located on the back side plate of the reel. This 3 1/2" model has a spool width of 1 5/32” and weighs 12.5 ounces. It is designed to carry 150 yards 20lb dacron. A great size for single handed salmon and steelhead rods or switch rods both. This was Joe's "crossover" reel and exhibits all of the fine design that he is known for.
