Description:
Commissioned by George Keramidiotis, director of the 2018 film FromTerror to Resistance - Pavlos Melas Nazi Camp, Thessaloniki 1941-1944 (FromTerror to Resistance - Pavlos Melas Nazi Camp), the film is set in the Greek A collection of film music composed by Alkis Baltas, who was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where the film was set. The military camp of Pavlos Melas in Greece was used as a prison and execution site for Greek patriots during the Nazi occupation. The film is based on the diary of Leonidas Yasimakopoulos, one of the prisoners, who kept a detailed daily account of events at the camp. The CD features a complete set of music composed by Baltas for clarinet, cello, and piano. In my music, I often use slow instrumental monologues to express pain, fear, despair or serenity, and anger." Each piece on this CD expresses my feelings and the images I saw in my mind while composing.Alkis Baltas, Naxos Japan
