Virgil Abloh's inaugural collaboration with IKEA has made its debut. As part of IKEA's fifth IKEA Art Event, which enlists diverse artists to create furniture pieces, Virgil designed one of eight rugs for the event. His rug features a Persian design with the words "KEEP OFF" enclosed in his signature quotation marks. The rug serves as a commentary on the traditional notion of furnishing, where the living room is treated as a showroom rather than a functional space. Virgil's intention is to highlight the irony of overprotective parents who shield their furniture. The rug was released on Friday, May 10th, 2019.
