Ivan Fischer & BFO Mahler's latest work is "Song of the Earth"! The Hungarian genius Ivan Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra (BFO), which Fischer founded with Zoltán Kocsis and has developed into one of the world's finest orchestras, have been recording carefully since the release of "Symphony No. 6" in 2005. The ninth in the series is a collection of Gustav Mahler's symphonies. The two soloists are members of BFO's critically acclaimed 2017 European tour (Hungary, France, Switzerland, Germany, etc.) who have sung the "Songs of the Earth" and have a proven track record of recording Mahler's Lieder and participating in orchestral accompaniment to the songs.
